Pentium Silver N6000 vs FX-870K specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Pentium Silver N6000 beats the FX-870K in overall performance. Despite this, the FX-870K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Pentium Silver N6000 has significantly more cores than the FX-870K. Indeed, the Pentium Silver N6000 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the FX-870K. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-870K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver N6000.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Pentium Silver N6000 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
