Pentium Silver N6000 vs Core i5-6198DU benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Pentium Silver N6000 beats the Core i5-6198DU in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-6198DU has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Pentium Silver N6000 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Core i5-6198DU that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-6198DU has a significantly higher clock speed than the Pentium Silver N6000.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium Silver N6000 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
