Pentium Silver N5000 vs Pentium G645 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Pentium Silver N5000 is faster than the Pentium G645. Despite this, the Pentium G645 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Pentium Silver N5000 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium G645 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G645. Our comparison shows that the Pentium G645 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver N5000. A Pentium Silver N5000 CPU outputs less heat than a Pentium G645 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium Silver N5000 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
