Pentium Silver N5000 vs Celeron G550 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron G550 is faster than the Pentium Silver N5000. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium Silver N5000 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Pentium Silver N5000 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Celeron G550 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G550. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Celeron G550 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver N5000. A Pentium Silver N5000 CPU outputs less heat than a Celeron G550 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Pentium Silver N5000 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
