Pentium Gold G6405 vs FX-8320E benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-8320E performs better than the Pentium Gold G6405. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium Gold G6405 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the FX-8320E has significantly more cores than the Pentium Gold G6405. Indeed, the FX-8320E has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Pentium Gold G6405. It also has more threads than the Pentium Gold G6405. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium Gold G6405 has a slightly higher clock speed than the FX-8320E. A Pentium Gold G6405 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Pentium Gold G6405 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
