Pentium Gold G6400 vs Celeron G6900 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Pentium Gold G6400 performs better than the Celeron G6900. Despite this, the Celeron G6900 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Pentium Gold G6400 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium Gold G6400 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Celeron G6900. The Celeron G6900 outputs less heat than Pentium Gold G6400 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Celeron G6900 has significantly more L2 cache than the Pentium Gold G6400. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Pentium Gold G6400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
