Pentium Gold G5400 vs Xeon E3-1225 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E3-1225 beats the Pentium Gold G5400 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium Gold G5400 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E3-1225 has significantly more cores than the Pentium Gold G5400. Indeed, the Xeon E3-1225 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Pentium Gold G5400. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium Gold G5400 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1225. A Pentium Gold G5400 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1225 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Pentium Gold G5400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
