Pentium Gold G5400 vs Athlon 3000G comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Athlon 3000G performs better than the Pentium Gold G5400. Despite this, the Pentium Gold G5400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Pentium Gold G5400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Athlon 3000G. The Athlon 3000G outputs less heat than Pentium Gold G5400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Athlon 3000G has significantly more L2 cache than the Pentium Gold G5400. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Pentium Gold G5400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
