Pentium G860 vs Athlon II X3 425 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Pentium G860 is faster than the Athlon II X3 425. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon II X3 425 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Athlon II X3 425 has significantly more cores with 3 cores compared to the Pentium G860 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G860. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G860 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Athlon II X3 425. The info from our database shows that the Athlon II X3 425 has more L2 cache than the Pentium G860

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium G860 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
