Pentium G4600 vs Xeon X5470 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5470 is faster than the Pentium G4600. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium G4600 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon X5470 has significantly more cores than the Pentium G4600. Indeed, the Xeon X5470 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Pentium G4600. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G4600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5470. A Pentium G4600 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5470 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon X5470 has significantly more L2 cache than the Pentium G4600
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Pentium G4600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
