Pentium G4520 vs Xeon L5520 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Xeon L5520 beats the Pentium G4520 in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium G4520 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon L5520 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Pentium G4520 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G4520. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G4520 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon L5520. A Pentium G4520 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon L5520 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Xeon L5520 has more L2 cache than the Pentium G4520. The Xeon L5520 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium G4520 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
