Pentium G3460 vs Pentium Silver N6000 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Pentium Silver N6000 beats the Pentium G3460 in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium G3460 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Pentium Silver N6000 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium G3460 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G3460. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Pentium G3460 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver N6000. The Pentium Silver N6000 outputs less heat than Pentium G3460 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium G3460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
