Pentium G3260 vs Core 2 Quad Q9400 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core 2 Quad Q9400 is faster than the Pentium G3260. Despite this, the Pentium G3260 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core 2 Quad Q9400 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium G3260 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G3260. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G3260 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core 2 Quad Q9400. A Pentium G3260 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Quad Q9400 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Pentium G3260 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
