Pentium G3240 vs Pentium Silver N5030 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Pentium Silver N5030 beats the Pentium G3240 in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium G3240 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Pentium Silver N5030 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium G3240 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G3240. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G3240 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Pentium Silver N5030. The Pentium Silver N5030 outputs less heat than Pentium G3240 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium G3240 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
