Pentium E5400 vs Core 2 Duo E7200 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core 2 Duo E7200 performs better than the Pentium E5400. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium E5400 in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Pentium E5400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core 2 Duo E7200. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core 2 Duo E7200 has more L2 cache than the Pentium E5400

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Pentium E5400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
