Pentium 6805 vs Xeon X3440 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X3440 beats the Pentium 6805 in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium 6805 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon X3440 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Pentium 6805 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium 6805. Our comparison shows that the Xeon X3440 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium 6805. Despite this, the Pentium 6805 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Pentium 6805 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X3440 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Xeon X3440 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Pentium 6805 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
