Pentium 3825U vs A9-9420 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Pentium 3825U performs better than the A9-9420. Despite this, the A9-9420 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Pentium 3825U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A9-9420 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Pentium 3825U. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A9-9420 has significantly more L2 cache than the Pentium 3825U
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Pentium 3825U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
