Pentium 2020M vs Core 2 Quad Q8200 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core 2 Quad Q8200 beats the Pentium 2020M in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium 2020M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core 2 Quad Q8200 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium 2020M that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium 2020M. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Pentium 2020M has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core 2 Quad Q8200. A Pentium 2020M CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Pentium 2020M has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
