In our benchmarks, the Core i3-N300 beats the N100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the N100 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the N100 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the N100. Both the N100 and Core i3-N300 have the same clock speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more L2 cache than the N100. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the N100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
