Iris Pro 5200 vs Radeon R5 340 specs and performance

For gaming, the Radeon R5 340 graphics card is better than the Iris Pro 5200 in our tests.

The Radeon R5 340 has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the Iris Pro 5200 has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

In addition, the Iris Pro 5200 has a significantly lower TDP at 45 W when compared to the Radeon R5 340 at 65 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon R5 340 is faster than the Iris Pro 5200.
