Iris 540 vs Radeon Vega 8 benchmarks

For gaming, the Radeon Vega 8 graphics card is better than the Iris 540 in our tests.

By comparing the spec sheets, both the Iris 540 and the Radeon Vega 8 have the same base clock speed. Despite this, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

In addition, the Iris 540 has a significantly lower TDP at 15 W when compared to the Radeon Vega 8 at 45 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon Vega 8 is faster than the Iris 540.
