HD 615 vs Iris 540 specs and performance

For gaming, the Iris 540 graphics card is better than the HD 615 in our tests.

By comparing the spec sheets, both the HD 615 and the Iris 540 have the same base clock speed. Despite this, the Iris 540 has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

In addition, the HD 615 has a significantly lower TDP at 5 W when compared to the Iris 540 at 15 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
