HD 4000 vs Radeon R7 240 comparison
For gaming, the Radeon R7 240 graphics card is better than the HD 4000 in our tests.
Our database shows that the Radeon R7 240 has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the HD 4000 has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
In addition, the Radeon R7 240 has a significantly lower TDP at 30 W when compared to the HD 4000 at 45 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon R7 240 is faster than the HD 4000.
