GeForce RTX 4090 D vs GeForce RTX 5090 comparison
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 5090 beats the GeForce RTX 4090 D in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the GeForce RTX 4090 D has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4090 D also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce RTX 5090 has slightly more memory with 32 GiB of memory compared to 24 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 4090 D has a slightly lower TDP at 425 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 5090 at 575 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 5090 is better than the GeForce RTX 4090 D.
