GeForce RTX 4080 vs Radeon RX 7700 XT benchmarks
For gaming, the GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 7700 XT in our tests.
Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 4080 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
As stated by the manufacturer, the GeForce RTX 4080 has slightly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a significantly lower TDP at 245 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4080 at 420 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 4080 is faster than the Radeon RX 7700 XT.
