GeForce RTX 3080 vs Radeon RX 590 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 3080 beats the Radeon RX 590 in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 590 has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the GeForce RTX 3080 has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
As stated by the manufacturer, the GeForce RTX 3080 has slightly more memory with 10 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 590 has a significantly lower TDP at 175 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 3080 at 320 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 3080 over the Radeon RX 590.
