GeForce RTX 3070 vs Radeon RX 6650 XT specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 3070 beats the Radeon RX 6650 XT in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6650 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 6650 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 6650 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 176 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 3070 at 220 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 3070 is faster than the Radeon RX 6650 XT.
