GeForce RTX 3060 vs Radeon RX 7900 XTX specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU is faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 in gaming.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX has significantly more memory with 24 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 3060 has a significantly lower TDP at 170 W when compared to the Radeon RX 7900 XTX at 355 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is better than the GeForce RTX 3060.
