GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop vs Quadro P400 specs and performance
For gaming, the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop graphics card is better than the Quadro P400 in our tests.
The GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop has significantly more memory with 4 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Quadro P400 has a significantly lower TDP at 30 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop at 75 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop over the Quadro P400.
