GeForce RTX 2080 vs Radeon RX 6700S comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2080 GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 6700S in gaming.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6700S has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 6700S also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
As stated by the manufacturer, they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 6700S has a significantly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 at 250 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2080 is better than the Radeon RX 6700S.
