GeForce RTX 2080 vs Arc A770 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Arc A770 beats the GeForce RTX 2080 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 2080 has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the GeForce RTX 2080 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Arc A770 has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Arc A770 has a significantly lower TDP at 120 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 at 250 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Arc A770 is faster than the GeForce RTX 2080.
