GeForce RTX 2080 Ti vs Radeon RX 6500 XT benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti beats the Radeon RX 6500 XT in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6500 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6500 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti has significantly more memory with 11 GiB of memory compared to 4 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 6500 XT has a significantly lower TDP at 107 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti at 250 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is better than the Radeon RX 6500 XT.
