GeForce RTX 2080 Ti vs Radeon RX 5700 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti beats the Radeon RX 5700 in gaming performance.
The Radeon RX 5700 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 5700 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti has slightly more memory with 11 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 5700 has a slightly lower TDP at 180 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti at 250 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti over the Radeon RX 5700.
