GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER vs Radeon RX 580X specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER beats the Radeon RX 580X in gaming performance.

Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.

In addition, the Radeon RX 580X has a slightly lower TDP at 185 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER at 250 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.

In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER over the Radeon RX 580X.
