GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q vs Radeon RX 5600 XT benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 5600 XT in gaming.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 5600 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 5600 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
As stated by the manufacturer, the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q has slightly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 6 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q has a significantly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the Radeon RX 5600 XT at 150 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q over the Radeon RX 5600 XT.
