GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q vs Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q benchmarks
For gaming, the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics card is better than the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q in our tests.
Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has a slightly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q at 90 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q over the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q.
