GeForce RTX 2070 vs Radeon RX 480 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2070 GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 480 in gaming.
In our comparison, the GeForce RTX 2070 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 2070 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 480 has a slightly lower TDP at 150 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2070 at 175 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2070 is better than the Radeon RX 480.
