GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER vs Radeon RX 580 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER beats the Radeon RX 580 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 580 has a slightly lower TDP at 185 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER at 215 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER is faster than the Radeon RX 580.
