GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER vs GeForce RTX 4080 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce RTX 4080 GPU is faster than the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER in gaming.
The GeForce RTX 4080 has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4080 also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
As stated by the manufacturer, the GeForce RTX 4080 has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER has a significantly lower TDP at 175 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4080 at 420 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 4080 is faster than the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER.
