GeForce GTX 980 vs Radeon RX Vega 11 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce GTX 980 beats the Radeon RX Vega 11 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the GeForce GTX 980 has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon RX Vega 11 has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
In addition, the Radeon RX Vega 11 has a significantly lower TDP at 15 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 980 at 165 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce GTX 980 is better than the Radeon RX Vega 11.
