GeForce GTX 980 Ti vs Quadro RTX 4000 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti GPU is faster than the Quadro RTX 4000 in gaming.
Our database shows that the GeForce GTX 980 Ti has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Quadro RTX 4000 has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Quadro RTX 4000 has slightly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 6 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Quadro RTX 4000 has a significantly lower TDP at 160 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 980 Ti at 250 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti is faster than the Quadro RTX 4000.
