GeForce GTX 980 Ti vs Arc A770 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Arc A770 GPU is faster than the GeForce GTX 980 Ti in gaming.
In our comparison, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the Arc A770 has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Arc A770 has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 6 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Arc A770 has a significantly lower TDP at 120 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 980 Ti at 250 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Arc A770 is faster than the GeForce GTX 980 Ti.
