GeForce GTX 970M vs Radeon RX 6400 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 6400 beats the GeForce GTX 970M in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 6400 has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6400 also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon RX 6400 has slightly more memory with 4 GiB of memory compared to 3 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 6400 has a slightly lower TDP at 53 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 970M at 75 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 6400 is better than the GeForce GTX 970M.
