GeForce GTX 970 vs Radeon R9 Fury X comparison

In our benchmarks, the Radeon R9 Fury X beats the GeForce GTX 970 in gaming performance.

Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that they both have the same amount of memory at 4 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.

In addition, the GeForce GTX 970 has a significantly lower TDP at 145 W when compared to the Radeon R9 Fury X at 275 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon R9 Fury X is better than the GeForce GTX 970.
