For gaming, the GeForce GTX 970 graphics card is better than the GeForce GTX 745 in our tests.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 745 has a significantly lower TDP at 55 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 970 at 145 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce GTX 970 is better than the GeForce GTX 745.
