GeForce GTX 960 vs Radeon R7 240 specs and performance
For gaming, the GeForce GTX 960 graphics card is better than the Radeon R7 240 in our tests.
In our comparison, the GeForce GTX 960 has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the GeForce GTX 960 also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce GTX 960 has significantly more memory with 4 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Radeon R7 240 has a significantly lower TDP at 30 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 960 at 120 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce GTX 960 is better than the Radeon R7 240.
