GeForce GTX 950 vs Radeon RX 7700 XT comparison
For gaming, the Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card is better than the GeForce GTX 950 in our tests.
The Radeon RX 7700 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 7700 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
As stated by the manufacturer, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has significantly more memory with 12 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 950 has a significantly lower TDP at 90 W when compared to the Radeon RX 7700 XT at 245 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the Radeon RX 7700 XT over the GeForce GTX 950.
