GeForce GTX 690 vs Radeon HD 7990 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce GTX 690 GPU is faster than the Radeon HD 7990 in gaming.
Our database shows that the Radeon HD 7990 has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the GeForce GTX 690 has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon HD 7990 has significantly more memory with 3 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 690 has a slightly lower TDP at 300 W when compared to the Radeon HD 7990 at 375 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce GTX 690 is faster than the Radeon HD 7990.
