GeForce GTX 680 vs Radeon HD 7990 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon HD 7990 GPU is faster than the GeForce GTX 680 in gaming.
Our database shows that the GeForce GTX 680 has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the GeForce GTX 680 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce GTX 680 has slightly more memory with 4 GiB of memory compared to 3 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 680 has a significantly lower TDP at 195 W when compared to the Radeon HD 7990 at 375 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon HD 7990 is better than the GeForce GTX 680.
