GeForce GTX 1660 vs Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q specs and performance
For gaming, the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q graphics card is better than the GeForce GTX 1660 in our tests.
In our comparison, the GeForce GTX 1660 has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce GTX 1660 also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that they both have the same amount of memory at 6 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q has a significantly lower TDP at 60 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 1660 at 120 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q is faster than the GeForce GTX 1660.
